Hûs Jens is located in a scenic landscape on the Bospad, Bontebok, in the Netherlands. Our village is located in the south of Friesland in a place where birds (especially buzzards) fly over your head, owls wink at you at night and badgers might cross your path!
Our chickens are at home on our property and enjoy their days on our lawn around the house or in our surrounding forest during the day. And of course, the next morning, provide you with a freshly laid egg for breakfast! You may also come across a leaping dear during a morning walk after you have already been kindly woken up by the songs of our surrounding birds. Is there anything nicer than waking up to the singing of birds in the morning? While comfortably lying in your bed? There is a reason why one of the rooms is called ‘cuckoo’!
Hûs Jens is the perfect place for people looking to relax in the Frisian nature.
In our close environment
You can easely access Heerenveen in ten minutes by car from our B & B. Because Hûs Jens is located on a cycle path, you have access at one of the junctions of the Flevoroute. This cycle route takes you to beautiful villages in the area. You didn't take your bike with you? No problem, you can rent bikes from us! Just send us a message prior to your arrival and we will organize them for you.

This lovely room is on the first floor at the front side of the house. The room has two single box-spring beds with nightstands, reading lights and blackout curtains. The space has central heating, is equipped with a table, 2 chairs and a TV, with free WiFi to your convenience.
As a stylist, Maricia has given this room an interior German vintage look. Be surprised by this very tasteful style!

FACILITIES
The cuckoo’s room has its own bathroom with a spacious shower, a sink and a toilet. We will certainly provide towels for you! Maricia has added mosaic details to the vintage tiling in the bathroom, making it another perfectly designed room. Would you like to mosaic yourself? Please ask about the possibilities to follow a mosaic workshop during your stay!
From the bathroom, as well as from your room, you can step in the lobby. This light room has large roofwindows and is furnished with two comfortable chairs and a coffee table. The perfect place for you to drink coffee or tea - we have placed everything you need for a coffee or tea here, so you can simply help yourself!
The cuckoo’s room includes a freshly made breakfast that is served in your room or in our spacious kitchenroom downstairs. When the weather is nice there are plenty of seating areas for breakfast outside – however you wish!

Hûs Jens was born from a passion for styling, floral design and interior. Maricia Jensma teaches styling and design and offers various types of workshops at home, in addition to teaching. Based on a sustainability idea; all rooms were styled by her with vintage and 'upcycled' items. Needless to say, you sleep in a new, comfortable box-spring bed but the interior of Hûs Jens shows a special mix of recycled furniture. Absolutely inspiring!

This lovely room is on the first floor at the back side of the house. The room has a twopersons box-spring bed with reading light and blackout curtains. The space has central heating, is equipped with 2 chairs and a little table and a TV, with free WiFi to your convenience.
The room has also been given a special look, matching the vintage style of the rest of the house.
This room can only be booked at the same time in combination with room CUCKOO, which is great if you want to follow a workshop with others at Maricia.

The FLYING FISH room costs € 95 per night for two people.
